NRCS has long been an information source for soil type determinations. MISS has a number of services which enhance the value of these maps by determining in-field variations and characteristics which can be managed differently.
Electromagnetic (EM) mapping is used to determine a soil’s water holding capacity by measuring the conductivity of the soil. This mapped information can be used to create management zones for planters, mobile nutrients, scouting and tile installations. The map shows the variability within the field so the field can be broken into smaller areas for more effective management. Along with EM mapping, we offer RTK GPS Land Surveying. By gathering elevation at one-centimeter accuracy, this layer of information can be combined to further enhance the creation of management zones. All data is gathered and exported in a file format that can easily be imported into other software.
